We like to think we’re a running club like no other, with social events and meet ups throughout the year. From summer socials to Christmas parties and runs, we put as much importance into the social side of things as we do the running…
To join Zero 2 Heroes costs an annual membership fee of just £10 per year, with the membership year running from 1st January.
Those taking part in the Beginner’s Course are welcome to join at any time during the course, or upon graduation.
Members have access to a members only Zero 2 Hero facebook group, with detailed information about club runs and social events.
To become a member, simply download the form on the link below and bring it along to the Membership Secretary, Dave Sheppard on a Wednesday morning, together with your membership fee.
Forms are also available from Dave.
You can stick with simple Z2H membership but the application form will also give you the option of registering with England Athletics as an individual at a cost, this year, of £20.
If you do this you will be eligible for a £2 discount on most races you enter and the Club’s registration with EA means that you will be able to run with Zero To Hero Running Club against your name.
Those who currently run with other clubs may wish to stay with them as ‘First Claim’ and run with Z2H as ‘Second Claim’, or they may wish to change to Z2H as First Claim. It is entirely your choice.
If you have any questions regarding club membership, please feel free to track Dave down on a Wednesday, or alternatively get in touch with us here
Club Rules
Only Z2H members may run with the club, with the exception of under-18s (see below) and guests, who may run for a 3 occasions to decide if they wish to join the Club.
The Club does not have under-18 members. However, an under-18 may run with their parent/guardian, who must be a Z2H member.
For safety reasons, children’s buggies are not allowed on Z2H runs outside Norman Park.
Again, for safety reasons, dogs are not allowed on Z2H runs.
The Club cannot endorse ‘place swapping’ in races that do not permit it. For this reason, any posts on the Z2H Facebook Group or Page requesting or offering this will be removed.
The Club gets one place for the London Marathon if its complement of England Athletics members is over a certain amount (currently 40+). This will normally be allocated in the summer for the following year as follows:
The place is allocated by ballot, with reserve winners in case the winner cannot take the place.
Applicants must have applied for a place and been rejected (able to show the rejection email).
Applicants must have been First Claim Z2H/EA members for a full year.
The winner of this place is not eligible to enter the ballot in the following 3 years.
To ensure that users of the Club’s Facebook Group are not deluged with requests for charity donations, it was agreed that requests for donations other than the Club’s designated charities will not be allowed on the Facebook Group. This does not apply, however, to sales and other fundraising events. The guiding principle is whether something is being offered rather than simple donations being requested.
